Late in the Day

Wardrobes and units made and fitted by lunchtime in the second bedroom to be decorated in two weeks.
Just the tidying up to do now and a new blind and lampshades to be bought and fitted.
We then went to pick up our friends and we drove through the Dales past Burnsal and Grassinton to Hebdon where we had booked four vintage afternoon teas in the Old Schoolroom cafe.
This was a late and the last celebration for Mr P's recent birthday as we had not been able to meet our friends around the date he turned 70.
We sat in the bay window with the sort of view you dream about and worked our way through the tower of treats.
Both men polished off the lot and we women were given waxed paper bags to bring our uneaten cakes home.
When we got home we did a bit more tidying and measuring then decided we didn't want anything to eat and needed a walk.
So as the sun was just starting to go down we went to a little wood that l know that has the best display of bluebells around here.
Imagine my dismay when the little road leading to it was closed off!
Quick descision made and we explored some other woods nearby, not as dense with bluebells but still pretty in the evening light.
On our way home we saw a lovely sunset on Main Street and that nearly was my blip but the second choice bluebells won out in the end.
