Tomatoes On Your Eyes

The title has nothing to do with the Blip. 

I sent an E-Mail to a colleague today pointing out where he had made a little mistake in using a function in our software.  It was just a typo and he hadn't noticed.  When this happens you say (in German) "Ich hatte Tomaten auf den Augen" which is "I had tomatoes on my eyes".

I'm struggling to imagine how that came into existence.  I've been here for nearly 7 years and I've never seen anyone with tomatoes on their eyes.

Mind you if I did, I'd probably guess they were from Saarland*.

That figure of speech reminds me of so many others that strike me as odd.  I've mentioned before that it's not a "stiff upper lip" here, but you should "keep your ears stiff" ("Halt die Ohren steif!").

Maybe that could be a theme for titles for the next week or so.

The Blip and the extra were courtesy of the view out of the offfice window.  Taken in the 3 minutes when I looked up this afternoon.  Those 3 minutes were my lunchbreak.  Sadly neither picture captures all the different layers and I have no idea how to edit it in Light Room to get that effect.

I should research it and practise, but in reality I'm going to switch my brain off and watch telly.

*No I wouldn't really.
