Mukhina

Vera Mukhina's socialist realistic sculpture of the Worker and Kolkhoz Woman.  First exhibited at the World's Fair in Paris in 1937 and subsequently moved back to Moscow. The worker holds a hammer and the woman a sickle, to form the hammer and sickle symbol.  Heady times.

Blipped from another perspective on 27 February 2016.
