View from Harbottle Castle

Late on in the morning we set out for Rothbury, via Happy Valley, where MrM attached a camera to a tree to monitor any squirrel activity and I admired the carpet of bluebells in the woods. Once in Rothbury we had a look round the Food and Craft Fair - lots of wonderful local produce for sale. We resisted buying any food, though we were given a lovely, heavy sourdough loaf (the last one left on a stall), but I browsed around the two plant nursery stalls and bought a cowslip plant.

After lunch, we had a short walk by the river with Louie, then MrM drove us to Harbottle Castle. It was decidedly chilly with a bitter wind as we walked around the castle ruins, but it didn't put Angus off taking a lot of photos. (I took a few, to add to my small collection of photos of Harbottle Castle in bad weather, with the intention of returning on a sunny day!) By the time we left the mist was coming down, so we decided to head for home to warm up and have a meal.
