Feeding the young tern

Young Caspian terns are very demanding, this one could be heard calling for a long way. The parent was responding with fish, which it seemed to be catching without too much trouble.

The redbilled gulls were harassing the adult with the fish, and some great aerobatic flying was going on as the adult tern tried to reach the young one without losing the fish.

The extra is the moment of transfer when the fish made it to the young one.
