Sea lane

The waters around Istanbul are navigated in a manner similar to the way the busy, narrow streets of the city. On this one-hour trip on the Bosphorus we'd swerved round a reversing tour boat, sped up to get past another and slowed (a little) to let a container ship pass as we crossed to the Asian shore and turned aside (slightly) to pass behind rather than across the bows of an advancing smallish tanker.

But it was very chilly!

Only mildly distracting from the views Istanbul's bridges, shoreline villas and palaces, and silhouetted hilltop mosques and skyscrapers.
