What's outside my window

Only brick walls, roof slates or cars on the High Street outside the windows of our flat. So I decided on a view through the windows of the bus on the way to work. I was poised, camera in hand, to take a shot or two of the patchwork of fields or the Cheviot hills, when the van in front of us was flagged down and stopped. Then the bus stopped and we waited for this lot to pass - dozens of sheep being moved from one field to another. Those on the road walked in orderly lines, but the mavericks  on the verge dawdled, munching the long grass as they went.

The joys of a rural bus service! Occasionally the bus stops to allow a flock of sheep to cross the road, but more often to avoid pheasants, a hare or deer. Lots of dogs (mostly well behaved!) travel on the buses and the space intended for pushchairs or wheelchairs is useful for transporting many things - industrial-size strimmers and other small pieces of machinery, bicycles, rucksacks... Much more fun than travelling on a city bus!
