Growing

At our last house we had a glorious Acer that just grew and grew. It made such a canopy that our dog, a fairly big Rough Collie, used to lie underneath it for shade when it was sunny. I have photos of him where you can just see his nose poking out. It used to amuse us all.

Now we knew, although neither of us know very much about plants, that we could not grow an Acer up here in the hills – far too windy. Then a year or so ago we were given an Acer, I can’t remember why, and it was planted out in the most sheltered spot we could find. I have just come across it and it seems to be thriving . . . Amazing!!

A lovely, if rather windy, day - good for getting all the washing dry.
