Aplomado Peruvian Falcon

I dropped by the Raptor Festival for a brief time today between rain showers and was quite taken with this gorgeous bird, truly the most beautiful one there. 

I have loaded a Barn Owl into extras.  I had the chance to touch this beautiful bird on its head.  There was about an inch to an inch and a half deep of the most exquisitely soft feathers I have ever felt, and they were warm from its body heat.  I know am not describing it accurately so I can only tell you that it was one the most beautiful tactile experiences I have ever had.  If you ever get a chance to pet a Barn Owl...Take It. 

All of the raptors have been injured and rehabilitated, but are unable to live in the wild.
