Burnet rose

Rosa pimpinellifolia just getting into its stride. I stuffed some bare roots of this in a couple of years ago. I'd say you've got to really love it as it needs no encouragement to grow. Jolly pretty though and single flowers too so the pollinators can get to it. N poeticus in Extras still going - with a friend and a visitor.

Chores. Livened up by our resident fox trotting purposefully about the garden. The hens' electric fence is keeping them safe so far but I can't believe the fox has their best interests at heart. Can't blame it though if there's a foxy larder to keep filled for the cubs.

Son 2 came back from school happy; his team won the inter-college rugby match at lunchtime against huge odds. The school, which is also an academy, decided to divide itself into colleges a couple of years ago just to add extra confusion. Allegedly it was to cope with increasing student numbers - I'm not so sure. The headmaster has grand ambitions.
