Hawk and Snake

This Red-shouldered Hawk and I spent the morning together.  He was the first bird I saw at Croydon Creek, sitting on a post in the middle of the bird feeders.  He was alone, as all of the other birds had gotten the message to beware.  He wasn't successful there, so he flew onto a tree branch and watched the grassy area below.  Sure enough, he spotted his prize, this small snake.  After flying off with his catch, he returned and caught another one.  He stayed in the vicinity, sitting on the Nature Center roof and in multiple trees.   I'm always thrilled to spot a hawk, in part due to their size.  I have included a close-up as an extra.
