FLYBY.....

.... had a tip off this morning (thanks Karen) the Royal Australian Air Force (RAAF) sent out the F18 Hornets for a flyby over the Glenbrook Base here.

Only issue with this was the article said between 10-22 to 10-35am - BUT from whence they come and in what direction, and by the time I caught up with the info it was 10-10am so did not have time to drive the 30 minutes to be closer to the base.   mmm what to do?

So, rang the RAAF aircraft noise hotline to see if I could get a direction they would be flying? No help!

Okay, last time this happened they sort of followed the mighty Nepean along the Blue Mountains from the North.

Being close to that path went out back at 10-15am and right on time whooska there they go in extra! Damn.....

Thought okay, the speed they are going (damn fast) if they come back the same way should be within that 10-35am time?

Sure enough around 10 minutes and whooska back they came except this time was "sort of" ready.

Not such a great shot, but at least I did get one! Boy, from a distance and the speed involved, happy with this, and of course cropped in to show effect.

Enjoy, and have a look in LARGE
