Magical Contortionist

This damsel fly emerged and unfolded herself from the larva case to the left - an extraordinary bit of May magic which took about 1 1/2 hours from the time of the larva climbing the leaf out of the water.  The extra is a better picture of the 1" long empty case.  The other wonderful thing is that this took place 5 storeys up in the center of a city in my tub/pond!
