I hate car commuting so, so much

A shitty start to the day - instead of the 30min drive to work it turned out a 1.5 hours drive. And all because some people just can't keep their distance to the next car. At least I wasn't involved in those accidents (two of them on the same stretch). 
We were diverted off the motorway, where our cars slowly rolled along in a seemingly never-ending parade. The guy in front of me briefly stopped to let two cars turn left onto the road, other side of the street, the guy behind me freaked because of the brief stop and decided to overtake, surely nearly smashed full frontal into the first car turning left. Why? Why are people like that and where did he leave his brain cells (or cell?) that morning?
