Looking Through . . .

my kitchen window towards part of the Richmond hills.  Even on a wet day I like the view.  On the right hand side you can see a pylon before the pine trees.  That is as high as I have walked.  The aim is to get past the pine trees to the very top. Opposite is Ann's house.  She is a widow about to celebrate her 80th. She is a very keen gardener. The planting of trees behind her house are part of the Dellside Reserve, which is in turn part of a green belt planted in trees along the Richmond hills.  It makes an attractive backdrop to Richmond.  The trees were planted to stabilise the hillside and protect our houses from slippage in heavy rain events.  Mountain bike tracks have since been built along with walking tracks.  Dogs are welcome.  BTW those sticks belong to a tall shrub that is going to be cut down when the forester returns.  I've lived with it but haven't found a reason to keep it.
