From Cullykhan

A great day out today, with the local Heritage society. We went to Pennan, Crovie and Gamrie, but the main focus for the day was  Cullykhan, a headland that has evidence of a bronze age settlement, iron age fortifications, a 13th century house, a medieval castle and a Napoleonic gun battery. We were very lucky to be given a tour by an author whose book on Cullykhan comes out next month.

As well as all the fascinating historical stuff, it's a spectacular setting with great views. This is the view across the bay to Pennan. I caught it as the sun broke through the heavy cloud.
