Arthur's Seat 'painterly' - AT98

We set out this morning at 9:25 am to get to Edinburgh and the National Museum of Scotland to meet fellow Blippers TrikinDave, Meles, FoF, DaveH, Shandonner and Forth Ports at 11 am. We hadn't quite counted on roadworks and broken down vehicles near the Forth Road Bridge and more roadworks going into Edinburgh though, so it was a bit of a panic on how to park and get to the museum on time.
Very bad form to be late at the meeting you organised!
But luckily the fellow Blippers had not given up on us yet !
It was great to meet them, put faces to the names, find out more binds us than just Blipfoto, admire the Roman stone lion Dave H had helped excavate from the river Almond and see the wonderful panorama view from the roof of the museum. Of course I completely forgot to take pictures of the group, but luckily the others hadn't, see ForthPorts and DaveH's Blips for example. Most of my museum pictures are rather blurry too, too busy talking I guess ;-) Just means I have a valid excuse to visit that lovely building again one day !
I have however one good image taken on the roof of the museum, see FoF taking a shot of the Edinburgh castle in the extras.

Driving out of the city was a bit more relaxed and we took a longer way back including a drive through Holyrood Park, hence the view from below Arthur's Seat, which I have merged with two painting textures to make something painterly for Abstract Thursday AT98. We're travelling back to Holland this weekend, leaving Scotland on Saturday morning and sailing to Holland via the Newcastle ferry on Saturday evening, so I think it's best if I plan posting the results of AT98 on Monday.

Thanks so much again to the today's Blipmeet group !

And thank you for all those lovely comments, stars and hearts for the vintage bicycles, I never expected that !
