Plant World

The weather had deteriorated today; wet and misty.  Colin came round this morning as we had arranged to go to Plant World Gardens & Nursery between Newton Abbey and Torquay, not an ideal day to visit gardens but we went anyway.

We had a drink in their cafe first then went to look round the gardens.  It is an interesting place, with connected gardens each representing the plants and trees from a different area of the world. Built on a steep hillside with far reaching views of Dartmoor and the river Teign (or at least would be if it wasn't so misty) but luckily the rain held off whilst walking up and down the stone paths winding through the gardens.

The rain started as we were having a sandwich lunch in the car so we took off for Babbacombe to take a walk along the prom and visit a hotel cafe for an afternoon drink.

The extra is a bird I managed to snap as it landed in a little stream for a bath. We're not sure what it is though it does look familiar. The second is a pair of hairy cattle that were in an adjoining field.
