Marysville

I stayed on the outskirts of Melbourne with a friend last night then today we headed for Healesville and Marysville.

We spent a lot of time at Bruno's Sculpture Gardens being wowed by his creativity. His gallery and home were destroyed by the Marysville fire in 2009 and many of his sculptures were lost to the fire too. Since then he has rebuilt and created anew and what a wonderful place it is!

I found this witch motoring of on a mission, and discovered gandalf helping some of the little people (extra no. 1).

Later in the afternoon we took a drive up Lake Mountain where there was evidence of the fire in all directions (extra no. 2). In places you could even still smell it - 8 years on.
