Taking off

I accidentally got this shot of a red winged blackbird taking off from the reeds along the pond. I had seen a hawk land there and had the camera trained on that, when the bird took off. It's not that clear, plus it was raining, but it's a pretty good show of the red on his wings, much more pronounced when flying.

The extra is the Canada geese family - I was concerned about the babies when I saw the hawk land, but this picture was taken later in the day so they seem to be fine.
