Ryde Falls, Mt Oxford

Mud inglorious mud
but reaching pristine beauty
bogholes there and back

Such beauty when we finally reached the waterfalls! I'd taken a Gorilla tripod but in the end a handheld image is the one I'm blipping. It was too hard trying to balance tripod/camera/me in the water and then on a rock! We sat at the wee camping ground afterwards and had our lunch in the watery sun.
The walking conditions underfoot were atrocious; the worst I've ever encountered in New Zealand, on a formed track. And I lived for 20 years in Taranaki, so that's really saying something.
