Cumbria Here I Come

A walk in St John's in the Vale

Had a wonderful walk in St John's in the Vale today.  Did a circular walk starting from the stone circle which goes via St John's church and Low Rigg.   At the village hall by the lovely church sat on a bench, for a drink and snack and saw a Jay fly past.  It was amazingly quiet, saw just a handful of people.  The stone circle was of course busy busy.  There was an ice cream van parked by the car so of course had to have one!

I've done this walk numerous times over the years but it was so nice to do it in the dry as there's usually lots of boggy sections.  A couple of others in extras including one of  Misty just before she had a swim in Tewit Tarn.

Heard a thud a short while ago and on investigation found a dead female blackbird, must have flown into the window on the back door.  So so very sad.
