Brilliant Geometry

Back to lovely, sunny weather. Twitter kindly alerted me about the Flying Scotsman timetable. #2 and I zoomed into town and shared the mini trainspotter bridge with the usual crowd. It wasn't the ideal vantage point, but good to see it again. In the afternoon we went to the Brilliant Geometry exhibition at the Summerhall. The exhibition is absolutely fabulous. We all loved moving the spheres and or light sources around to see the projections onto the plain. Here are two videos explaining what is going on:
* Stereographic projection video
* Further adventures in stereographic projection video

Loved the stereographic projection of the globe. However, the coolest exhibit was the projection of a hypercube into 3D space. One of the coolest exhibitions I have seen in a while and highly recommended. We finished the afternoon with a beer in the sunshine.
