A great day

Sunday 14th May 2017 (1723)

The trade off for providing lodging for my friend was that I got her to preach this morning! After the service we had a quick lunch and then made the most of the glorious afternoon. 

First stop was Formby Woods to photograph the red squirrels. Unfortunately they had clearly all gone on holiday and we didn't even see one. We still had a lovely walk through the woods. We then decided to go on to Southport. We walked along the pier, watched the boats, and had a bit of fun with the amusements alongside another photography tutorial. This weekend has tested my knowledge! 

Back home for dinner and another evening of reviewing photos and discussing photography. Lots of laughter, which is always a great tonic. I feel like this weekend has been a little holiday. We're both disappointed she has to go home tomorrow.
