Beneath Biscay

A pair of posing pilgrims

The two girls walking the 'Camino de Santiago' taking a moment for a snapshot to mark their progress. The scallop shells are just visible on their rucksacks.

A couple of days ago somebody stopped me in the Plaza Mayor to ask which way to go for El Camino. Sadly I didn't have a clue of the whereabouts in the city of the path, other than it ought to be heading in a general westward direction.

I wonder whether the northern coastal route passing though Gijón is becoming more popular. I think the traditional east-west route goes further south via León.
