Amazing camouflage

Yesterday I went to Whixall Moss. I saw an adder retreating into the bracken but it had gone before I could get a shot.

The blip of leaves on a tree looks very ordinary but if you take a close look there's a brimstone butterfly hanging below and looks just like a leaf (it's the one with a brown spot on it). I'd never have spotted it if I hadn't seen it land - the camouflage is incredible!

I also saw a pair of great tits taking caterpillars into a nest in the slot of a gate post (extra) and other birds including a great spotted woodpecker (the other extra).
