Humankind's puny efforts

This morning we flew to Darwin. The flight was delayed an hour, and all up it left us feeling like sitting around.so we did.

Our hotel room looks out over Darwin Harbour, and the sunset was rather spectacular. Lots of attempts to show it.

However, I have instead chosen to post this photo of the Australian Naval Patrol Boat Base; the peaceful evening light has picked out the boats and not quite dulls the tiny spots of light on the tops of the posts. Meanwhile, the setting sun is colouring the whole scene.

It is time that humans stopped trying to outperform the "forces of nature"
