Above And Beyond...

Old Hersonissos Village

It's been another lovely day in paradise on the sunshine island of Crete. We completed the walk that we attempted a couple of days ago that was thwarted when Mrs BB flip-flops failed.  The walk was from our village of Koutouloufari via Piskopiano to Old Hersonissos: However, before we left our village we bumped into our friends who run a couple of clothes shops and whilst I chatted to Nelson, Mrs BB was with his wife, Leah, and wanting a dress and shoes! She's like her mother. I paid and said they would be kept for her birthday next month!

When we got to the lovely village of Old Hersonissos we sat at the upstairs verandah of a bar we like in the middle of the old square. The blipfoto is the view. The extra is of the old church (dated 1858) just off Old Hersonissos square - I love the entrance and the way the tree is casting it's shadows over the front of it.

After walking back it was a couple of hours around the pool to cool off and a catch up on the book I've been given to read.

This evening we ate out in a Taverna in our village that we haven't tried before called Kostas - a very good meal - before a quick drink in our favourite Irish bar and heading back: Another day gone so quick!
