Another wet walk

We decided to tackle another two low-lying Wainwrights.  The Mountain weather forecast said it would be windy but when we got about 3/4 of the way up Hen Combe we were almost blown over.  The rain was horizontal and the visibility dropped to nil.  The plan had been to do Hen Combe and Gavell Fell but we aborted the expedition without doing either.  It was a nice walk however and I am sure when we go back in better conditions we will wonder what the problem was.

On the way down of course the cloud lifted,  the rain stopped and the sun almost came out.

This shot was taken during a brief period of slightly less cloudy sky and shows the edge of Melbreak with mist on top.
