Eight little fluff balls!

We kind of overdosed on cuteness this evening. Took Rona over to the university for a stroll and found that eight of nine eggs on one nest had just hatched sometime since Sunday.
Finally dragged ourselves away only to find another swan family - ten cygnets - paddling across the road and holding up traffic. (See MaggieD's blip)
This morning we went off to Causewayhead, Stirling to see a centenary commemoration of the Battle of Arras. Some forty thousand odd poppy petals were to be poured off the Wallace Monument at 11.00am. Lovely idea which, sadly, just didn't quite come off. Today's extra shows my best effort. Those petals were quickly whipped away in the breeze and mostly were almost invisible from ground level. On the plus side, I was pleasantly surprised to see the number of people who took the time to witness this event.
