Today, my colleagues hosted a Big Brekkie in aid of Christian Aid, featuring smoothies, pancakes & fruit, croissants, pastries, home-made bread and rolls, jam, marmalade, tea, coffee, juice, bacon and sausage rolls. Many thanks to the Ed Dept at the Diocese of Chelmsford for organising a great event and a huge thank you to the many staff and colleagues at the office and from further afield who came, chatted, laughed, ate, drank and contributed. We raised £475 for Christian Aid.

Christian Aid Week was set up 60 years ago to support those left with nothing following the Second World War and continues to help relieve the suffering of refugees and build a world where everyone has a safe place to call home. My dad was a refugee. He came to this country with nothing. No home, no language, no papers, no family, no money and with only the clothes he wore. He found safety, welcome and a home. We carry on a long tradition of generosity and welcome.

Thank you.
