Keep it Southside...

Up, fed, and out to catch the train.

One of my mates, the very lovely Cor, runs the Southside Fringe, in Glasgow - so we headed through for a day of music and art with the SBG.  Sadly, the sunshine of the previous few days never made an appearance and it was a day of constant rain, some of it Monsoon style.

As we jumped on the Clockwork Orange, it soon became apparent that EVERYONE else on the train was heading to Ibrox too.  A very cosy journey with hundreds of football fans!  We found our way to Bellahouston Park and to the House for an Art Lover, where the event was taking place.

Despite the constant rain, we had a great day.  The kids LOVED watching the bands, dancing and getting their faces painted.  Less enamored with a woman dressed as Charlie Chaplin who kept coming up to them....they just didn't know what to make of her (but have since been introduced to the world of the real Charlie Chaplin and find him hilarious).

As well as the kids being happy, I got to catch up with Cor, her daughter, and several friends from the Southside whom I'd not seen for about 4 years.  Plus there was beer.  Win win.

Mid afternoon, we said our goodbyes and headed back into town, where we took the kids for dinner, and then headed back through to Edinburgh, finally getting home around 9pm.

Straight to bed for the kids (once the face paint was wiped off), and then we sat and watched a couple of shows before doing the same.

Blip is of the Absurdist Pipers, who were very entertaining.
