Many of the local fields are golden yellow with oilseed rape and here the poppies are starting to brighten the verges.  The tiny dots above the flowers are some of the insects which were pollinating the crop which will eventually be used as a vegetable oil or biofuel.   But it is unpopular with many people as the pollen affects them so they will be pleased when the flowers die and there are concerns about the acreage of land devoted to it.
The extra is a different view of the same field but taken with the camera instead and I’m surprised how much better the phone photo is.   The AI road is in the middle distance with Inveresk church in the background.
