Doggie Heaven

Our walking group had been asked if we would give a talk to some visually impaired people and their escorts who were on a weeks' walking holiday in Devon and were doing a walk in our area. I arranged for one of our walk leaders who has local knowledge to do the talking and asked another lady to join us. So we had 6 visually impaired people, 8 guides, 3 of us and 7 guide dogs who were also on holiday. The dogs are allowed off their leads when practical. After 3 days of rain, this was one of the paths. Of course the dogs didn't mind and were very well behaved. We were able to step along the edge. I was surprised how quickly we were able to walk, our normal pace really. It goes to show the trust they had in the people guiding them. Today was the first dry day they have had all week and all seemed to enjoy our local coast and river sections.
