An unusual angle on Buttermere

This was from the top of Hen Comb which we attempted and failed to climb on Tuesday when our walk was cut short by the weather.

No such problems today.  The weather was glorious and we went up Gavel Fell and Hen Comb Fell by a different route from the one we planned the other day.   It was a lovely circular walk of about 8 miles and we ended up at the Kirkstile Inn for a cup of tea when we came down. It was really warm sitting in the pub garden with wonderful views of Melbreak.

This view of Buttermere was nice.   A polarising filter brought out the sky nicely.

Our Wainwright tally now stands at 122.
