New Life at New Park Pool

The cygnets have hatched out on one of the pools at Weston Park.  Unfortunately I missed them on the nest, though the rate at which the reeds have been growing I doubt I would have had a clean shot.  Mum and Dad are very protective and despite being 20 metres or more away they were hissing at me periodically in warning.

It was the first morning this week that the sun has made an appearance. it certainly made them stand out but getting the exposure right was challenging.  I like using the Olympus in these conditions as it is the simple matter of turning the front thumb wheel to dial in the compensation.
