Weather.....

....it really was all about the weather today. 

Mum and I had a brisk, short walk, our voices drifting out to sea along with sea spray off the waves. Not many birds about and we were the only ones out in it. With a strong SW wind (41km/h) with gusts reaching 44km/h, it's no wonder the beach was empty. We had four layers of clothing on along with hats, gloves and scarves - it was bitter!!

And it's no wonder, snow on the Port Hills above Christchurch, also on surrounding ranges so there was no getting away from it, 7C - brrr!

Needless to say we stopped at a local cafe for cake and a hot cuppa, nice and warming.
