A sip of water

My title is a line from Walter de la Mare's poem The Goldfinch. For copyright reasons, I cannot quote the whole poem, but it - and its illustration by Brin Edwards - are among my favourites in The RSPB Anthology of Wildlife Poems.

I was pleased with the goldfinch's reflection in the pond water in this shot. I've always scattered sunflower seeds for ground-feeders, but it was only when I hung up a container that I attracted the goldfinch (Carduelis carduelis) to the garden.

Hope you're having an enjoyable weekend, blipmates!
