Orford Ness

A group of us visited Orford Ness catching the ferry across to the shingle spit that is now owned by the National Trust. A very interesting area which in the past has been used for weapons / bomb testing from the early 1900's. The remains of these buildings are still present but not all are accessible. The area now is also an important nature reserve with marshland, saltmarsh, shingle and lagoons.

This shot shows the lighthouse on the beach with the extra of the black beacon.
