King Charles Street arch

Fancy 1908 arch that links the Treasury to the Foreign and Commonwealth Office in Westminster. Two different sculptors worked on it - Paul Raphael Montford did the upper sculptures on the side facing Parliament Street but these, facing down King Charles Street towards the Cabinet War Rooms and St James's Park are by William Silver Frith.

The two female allegories are part of a series on the arch depicting, in this case, Government and History (some say literature). Don't know who the poor soul with a castle on his head in the middle is!
