Culture vultures
Some people looked at us like we were mad but we left the buggy at the bottom and climbed the steps to walk the walls of Old Dubrovnik. I played the pregnancy card so the boy had the huge bottle of water in his back pack and carried a very sweaty Esther in his arms for well over an hour. He didn't complain though as the views were worth it. I got severe roof tile envy. The contrast between old and new is beautiful. The highlight was when two Chinese ladies asked to hold Esther for a photograph. Hilarious! Esther was not impressed that her pastey skin was yet again seen as a tourist attraction.
A crap meal for lunch (you get what you pay for here) and a lovely ice cream before heading back on the £22 return bus journey!
I should add that Esther has sustained an injury every day since we have been here and that might be why she looks more battered and bruised each day.
Day 1 - cut her leg on some rough skirting board in hotel room.
Day 2 - insect bite under right eye.
Day 3 - hit head on terracotta plant pot in restaurant veg patch.
Day 4 - refusing to hold mummies hand to walk back to hotel room, tripped over her own feet and cut gum by face planting carpet.
I much prefer the crawling phase!
