A splendid early summer day here... that's my photo for today.

Also today --- carnage at a concert in Manchester Arena, filled with young people.

The news started coming in here at 6 p.m. our time (Monday), 2 a.m. Tuesday in the UK. I've been following it in The Guardian online, reaching across eight time zones in an instant. 

I cannot comprehend what this must be like -- to suddenly have your everyday life turn into a nightmare that goes on and on. 

I am at a loss for words.
