Goodbye to Moët

I let this candle when we got home after a surreal, incomprehensible day. Moët, my daughter's 8 yr old Arabian gelding died yesterday. A ruptured diaphragm. How could that happen, why him, he was so young, so special, so much needed still. I'm not sure why people light candles at times like this, but I needed to do something and the candle was there. Strange how the death of an uncomplicated love allows other unresolved losses to surface.
Moët, it was far too soon for you to have left us, silly boy. But you've gone so all I can do is pray for your swift and auspicious return, close to us, always.
