Seaside Seabird Sanctuary

My granddaughter and I decided to visit the seabird sanctuary this afternoon. We were disappointed to see that it was closed. But excited to find out that they were closed to make improvements to the sanctuary. Some of the changes are evident in this picture. They have a new logo , new entrance sign and their Pelican statute was refurbished. If you look closely, you will see that there is wire wrapped around the wing and a fish hook is in the bill. The sanctuary's mission is to rescue, rehabilitate, and release the sick injured or orphan birds. Sadly there are many birds, just like this one, that they see daily.Moira and I will keep watching for their grand reopening so that we can come and see all the new things that they've done to their facility.
