The bright one

Too bright for my liking, this poppy. It is so ...overwhelmingly orange.
My efforts to get rid of it in years past were unsuccessful,  it keeps coming back and flourishing. 
The extra is from tonight's band concert. Gage (on the left) is getting ready to play the drums in the mid school jazz band. The roses were handed out to the graduating seniors; it is not his.
