Banksia

I spent some time down our Bushcare site this morning, it wasn't an organised session so I had time to appreciate the beauty of my favourite Banksia which is ericifolia or the Heath-leaved Banksia. Not only does it have these fabulous flowers that gradually change their colour over a number of months but then when the cones die one can use them in the smoker (meat smoker I mean - maybe could work in the other smoker too but haven't tried it.)

Back to the flower, this tree nearly died due to I expect getting too wet but it it is looking good again.
