Cicada Appearance

Maryland is seeing an unexpected appearance of the 17 year cicadas.  Rather than emerging on schedule in 2021, this batch is either an early arrival, or part of a different brood that was reported in the early 1900s.  I have friends complaining that their dogs love them, and it's a battle to limit their consumption.  They are a good food source for birds and animals, so all in all they aren't so bad.
