No joke

Skoda, the Czech car maker owned by VW, used to be the butt of silly jokes before the modern generation of some really good cars. Look at this old one though, a 1958 Skoda Spider.
It has a tubular space frame chassis, fibreglass body, and a 1.1 litre overhead cam engine. Its top speed is 125 mph. It was on display today at the Millbrook test centre in Bedfordshire, where the Society of Motor Manufacturers and Traders held its annual Test Day.
Sadly, we weren't allowed to drive it, as it was display only. There was plenty else to drive though. A good day.
