Davie Does Dublin

Dublin day two and it's Dave's birthday. After I finally worked out how to phone home to check the chief babysitter's (grandma) stress levels, the American Diner for breakfast proved too much of a pull for birthday boy and he basked in the surroundings of "Eddie Rockets" playing out 'Pulp Fiction' hunnybunny scenes in his head and sometimes out loud. The reason you can't see anyone in the picture is because "He executed every mothe......."

A scorcher of a day and we headed across the city to Phoenix Park for some madonnaesque conical bra icecreams and to get our fill of Dublin Zoo. Alas, it was too hot for us hairy human lightweights and not the same without sam and tess in tow so back over to a public house of choice for grub and drink (repeating theme of weekend). Later we stumbled across a lovely little market and hidden market bar where we drank and shared the world's biggest nacho bowl (theme, repeating, again), a lazy walk home via parks and the world's zaniest park keeper herding everyone out of St Stephen's Green "park closed, park closed!", canals with streetwise herons and water voles then back to the swish hotel, forgoing tea to sample some more of the cocktails i had developed a new taste for only the night before (theme, definately a theme).

Another cracking day in Dublin, as at this time we were blissfully ignorant of the paramilitary funeral salutes happening north of the river.
