Moose Jaw.

Look what Zoe found in the forest the other day!
To give you some idea of scale, this bone is about 13" or so long!

Richard has been creating wonderful trails thro the wild forest around our place....named and tagged so you don't get lost! It is so beautiful in there...the moss, the trees....just the silence of it all! The other day Zoe proudly presented Richard with a very large leg bone....which has since been buried! A day or two later, they headed back into the same area, and Richard started looking for the rest of the moose! He found a large area, close to some water, with all sorts of remains, fur, bones, teeth etc. He came back with this jaw bone, some teeth still attached to a lower part of a jaw and a few vertebrate! The form is so amazing! I love the shapes and colours in this piece of wonderful architecture.

I have a little collection of vertebrate and bones, deer, moose, cat, large fish thing, and I used to have a moose and deer skull - sadley they have gotten lost in my many moves over the past few years!

Market day today...but it was a bit of downer! the weather was awesome so I didn't have to put up the chaos of the indoors, but the patrons were few and far between. I fear the end of the season is fast approaching!
